Aloe Vera for Skin

In the Vedic times, Indians developed a science of "Rasayan" or chemistry that looked at making medicines for all types of illnesses and injuries. Many local plants, herbs, and flowers were used for this very purpose and safe to say, their skin was thriving.

Fast forward a few centuries to the present, the world around us has changed
drastically. The products we use now are laden with harmful ingredients that can
damage our skin beyond repair and the environment does not help either. The quality of air, water and general atmosphere has worsened as it is highly polluted. In conditions like these, how is one to take care of their skin and protect it from further damage?

There is no better time to "go back to our roots" of where we came from and look at easily accessible options that have many benefits for our skin and one such ingredient is Aloe Vera.

The thick, pointed, and fleshy green leaf grows up to about 12–19 inches, each
containing a slimy tissue that stores water. When cut open, this semi solid substance can be extracted and stored as Aloe Vera ‘gel’. This gel contains most of the bioactive compounds of the plant, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants. In short, this is where all the goodness comes from!

Aloe Vera can be used for a variety of purposes and one of them being for your skin and here are a few ways you can do that:

1. For your Summer needs
Summer means regular shaving and waxing! This can lead to itchiness,
inflammation and redness caused by razor bumps. While we can easily tend to
other parts of our body, the bikini area is more sensitive. Don't hesitate to go all natural and cut a fresh leaf of aloe to soothe your skin. Make sure to not scrape
the green part when extracting the gel. Apply it generously and wash it off after 2-3 minutes. It will not only control inflammation but also balance the PH level of
your skin.

2. Moisturize and Hydrate!
Aloe Vera is a great hydrating product for people with dry skin. Additionally, regular usage of this gel has shown to help with various skin conditions like
eczema and acne.

3. Block the sun
As much as we love warm weather with some Vitamin D to get us through the day, the sun's harmful UV rays can leave your face sunburnt and irritate your moisture barrier heavily. As a precaution and a cure, apply enough Aloe Vera Gel to cover the area and let your skin cool off under the fan or a light breeze. You can see visible results shortly.

4. Treat your back acne
Acne can be painful, uncomfortable and not just on the face. There are some people who deal with back acne. Aloe serves as an amazing back acne spray.
Mix aloe vera with apple cider vinegar and secure it in a spray bottle for a 2-3 day usage. Remember to keep the bottle in a refrigerator / cool place.

5. Fill your brows!
Eyebrows are really important as they structure our face. A full-bodied eyebrow is not just something, a few lucky people are born with, but also something which you can achieve! Mix our Aloe Vera Gel with a few drops of castor and apply it to your eyebrows before bed. This routine will help you grow long and thicker eyebrows.
